- In the agency section categories for Federal (Other) and State would be helpful in addition to FEMA and RC.

Maps
There is an uncatagorized page for the Interactive Maps Team that should be in the Wiki Project category perhaps with pages for each of the teams working on the Wiki as well as pages for instructions, style guides, etc.
The Interactive Maps page is also in the uncatagorized list and for now I think it should be in the Resources > Maps category. I envision having links to all the master maps by subject (zoomed out links) that the community is editing. Then on each state's category there could be a page that has a link for each of the subject maps but that link would be for a zoomed-in view of just the appropriate state. We would like to have a super map at each of these levels that would combine all the subject maps as layers that could be turned on/off by the user. I have started discussions to try and get some ideas and feedback on this from the map team - unless someone has a better idea quickly we need to implement this so we can help Hanna and Ike people ASAP. 167.159.1.2 07:37, 5 September 2008 (CDT) <Sorry, now I am logged in - Earl>

Florida categories
Soliciting comments
I can create a navigation template for Florida if someone wants to work with me on a geographical breakdown. Example {{USFloridaCounties}} . Each county would have a category, for example [[Category:Dade county]]. By inserting {{USFloridaCounties}} at the bottom of a page, a visitor could navigate to any county category page and view all the links for that county. This needs to be decided early so we can figure out how to divide and tag pages. As navigation templates are added they can be found at http://hurricane08.info/wiki/Category_Team#Templates

need Katrina category
There are still some valid pages for Katrina. I put the Katrina image Gallery page in the Katrina Category (and I added categories to all the other images pages).

More Categories
Could you add Categories under Geography for other areas outside the US. Right now the maps and images teams could use a category for Caribbean with sub categories for Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Cuba and maybe you should add Puerto Rico (also in the USA category) and then a category for Lesser Antilles instead of listing all the smaller islands. We should probably think big and put the US category and the above new categories in a North America category. I could see us having other continents one day. In the future we might also need an Atlantic Ocean category at the North America level for Bermuda and other isolated islands - or maybe we should just lump them in with the nearest continent.
Also in the Audience category I think we need a broader term for the survivors category. Which audience category should pre-storm preparation topics go? Some people may not survive - if we have a survivor category should we have a fatalities category? Maybe just use Residents - it is not as ominous as Survivors.
Thanks for all the thought you gave to this category taxonomy - its harder than it appears.

- I listed the individual Lesser Antilles islands in the raw. To activate a red island category, click on it and add [[Category:Lesser Antilles]] to the new category.
- I plan to add higher categories as needed. Because Categories live in a virtual structure, we can go up or down the tree with redundant categories. The virtual structure is modeled on a faceted classification.
- The Category Team#Approved categories list is a tool to help keep track of relationships and so we can avoid cyclic references in the sub-catgories,
- e.g. we don't want these types of relationships: paint>color AND color>paint.
