Talk:Animal Rescue Resources

This page, in its Katrina wiki incarnation, also has a sidebar menu which I have not copied over since we don't yet have a template for such a menu on the Gustav wiki (that I know of).

This page also makes use of three templates that are necessary to some of the core content of the page. These templates to not as yet exist on the Gustav wiki and, as noted in the Edit Needs section of the article, may end up needing to be manually copied over:

  • Template:Animal Finder Project Participation
  • Template:Animal Rescue Contacts
  • Template:MoreAnimalRescuePages

Editing Page

Hi - I'd like to edit the Animal Rescue Resources page.

Lauriewrites 16:05, 31 August 2008 (UTC)Thanks, Laurie White

I'd like to help as well - I've started verifying some of the links and have added one for Pets America that came from Debbie Cerda on the Information center site. [rubymac] 10:53, 31 August 2008 PT

Taking out or minimizing "Advisories" section

I understand the need to promote caution, but it feels like there are too many "fraud/warning" references listed here -- and I don't think it's a constructive message. I think it will scare people away from donating if there's a huge concern about fraud and scams. I think the short list of warning recommendations and tip-lists for donating on the Aid Agencies & Donations page should suffice -- and we can just link to there from this Animal_Rescue_Resources page, or re-use the same text. What do others think? Contactable on Twitter at sgleason 12:13, 1 September 2008 (CDT)

Adding in Pet/Animal rescue resources from Aid Agencies page

Hi Laurie,

The new structure for the page is looking great. Since you've started in on the Animal/Rescue Orgs, I went ahead and added the 4 groups I'd already researched and vetted for the Aid Agencies & Donations page. These groups all have active on-the-ground efforts for Gustav and have been getting press coverage for their work. Contactable on Twitter at sgleason 13:53, 1 September 2008 (CDT)

Hi, Laurie,
